Well we packed it up and headed to NY for our annual Yankee game this past weekend.. It is always a HUGE adventure for the kids to go into the city and we decided to make a weekend of it. I must say, headphones are a lifesaver!!!!! This is the first time we used 3 sets and I gotta tell ya, we now know what is a travel necessity! It was sooo nice, they could all plug in and watch a movie, or play their games, or listen to their mp3's, and they didn't have to do the same thing at the same time!!!! No bickering about what they want to do or they couldn't hear over their sister, etc, etc.. AND the best part is Mike and I were spared of listening to Barbie for 3 hours straight!

They think the subway is the best ride ever, especially when they get to stand up....

So after a 3 hour drive, train ride and subway, we finally make it to the brand spankin' new stadium to where our new seats are located.... Not a bad view, but it was very HOT!!! The stadium itself is pretty, but I really didn't like where our seats were.. We were in the sun the entire time (previous years at the old stadium our seats were under cover, in the shade.. Much nicer..) Now it would have been alright if it was just Mike and I, enough beers and you don't even notice the heat! But we had the kids, who were getting hot, and tired, and bored, and hungry... You get the picture. They were done after about inning 4. We managed to get another 5 innings out of them with the bribery of ice cream and cotton candy.. And a whole lot of extra moola to pay for it all.... To top it off, the Yanks lost. Bummer.

Lillian ready to go.. Doesn't she look miserable?

We decided to have a dinner picnic (via Subway sandwiches..) and let the kids cool down and run off their energy at Central Park after the game. Mike was amazed at how busy it was there! There were a lot of people, but where else are they gonna go in NY for some R&R? We then headed back over the river to NJ where we had a suite booked for the night... Best decision we made. We were all tired and worn out from the day and it was so nice just to crash instead of enduring another 3 hour ride home!

Only in NY... This guy looked amazing! But not nearly as nice as the real lady...

The next morning we headed to the ferry to go see Lady Liberty. The kids have been wanting to see her for a while now so we finally decided to go. It was a very nice day.. Relaxing, beautiful weather, and very low-key. The kids were very impressed with the Lady, and enjoyed the ferry ride out to see her and back. We then called it a day and headed home, again with NO bickering!!! (thank you headphones!)
It was a wonderful weekend, tiring, but fun. The kids did great and had a great time. Now we are getting ready for our Virginia Beach vacation. We leave Saturday for a week... I don't think there is Internet where we are staying so I may be MIA again for another week.... But think of all the pics and posts you will have to look forward to when I get back!! I will try to just post a pic or two while I am gone.. Stay tuned!
So.......when are you going to update this thing? I know a lot has happened since the NY trip!
